I am a photographer first and foremost. But I am also a people observer with an uncanny knack of being able to peg people right off the bat. I can tell you usually within the first few glances if with nary a word you and I will hit it off. Now this doesn’t mean I’m a judgemental man; far from it. I love people.
However, this young lady taking a break from skating around the park to take in the scenery of the neighboring pond struck me as someone not quite trusting of many, especially strangers. She seemed adventurous whilst cautious and aware of her surroundings. Not only is she fit from keeping an active lifestyle (hence the inline skates on her feet), she is also aware of her surroundings and cautious all at the same time (noting the forethought of carrying her car keys in hand while skating around a public park — key held like a dagger to fend off attackers).
It is unfortunate that beautiful ladies have to think this way yet it is something we must all think about. Oh how I long for a more innocent time where such sights were beheld instead of being eaten by the “big bad wolf..”
