We are experts when it comes to model portfolios and we will produce images of you that are unique and creative and something that you cannot get anywhere else! Even if you’re nervous and unsure about how your images will turn out, we are experts at bringing out the best model that you can be. If you are already a model and just want something new and unique, we can definitely work with you to create images that you will be proud to have in your portfolio!
We offer standard model portfolio photography, typical compositions that you would see on any model’s contact sheet or Composite card (also known as the Comp or Zed card). This usually consists of a headshot (1/4 length) accompanied usually by your “vital statistics” (hair colour, eye colour, height, weight, measurements, skin tone or ethnicity, etc) and then the option of a 1/2 length shot a full body shot and perhaps a couple of character images to show your modeling ability.
We also offer model photo shoots which aren’t necessarily photographed with comp card or contact sheets in mind. Sometimes you just want to “refresh” your portfolio with new images. Perfect! That’s the work we love to do as it allows us to be creative and create truly stunning portfolio images.
At this point, you probably have a lot of questions, like:
Q> I always wanted to try modeling but I don’t know if I’m good or if the images will look good.
Our Answer> Not everyone can be a fashion model, not everyone can be a glamour model, not everyone can be a beauty model, not everyone can be a Playboy model, not everyone can be a Suicide Girl.
However, every model can find a niche. We will work with you and your style or look to create images which show your best and find a niche that works best for you, to create the most stunning images of you as a model! You will definitely like the images.
As for being good enough, everyone starts somewhere. Everyone at one time or another has been a beginner! If you are unsure, we will help you with posing, we will help you with expressions. We have the capability of bringing out the inner you, the fire that will burn from the spark that made you curious enough to come to this website!
Q> Do you have a studio?
Our Answer> We currently have a small but useful studio and, though it is compact, it has allowed us to understand light and shadows and placement of our studio lighting to suit any subject or model.
Q> I don’t like studio, can we shoot at some cool location?
Our Answer> We LOVE location shoots! Absolutely YES!
Q> Okay, but what does it all cost?
Our Answer> There are different costs for different products. Comp cards and Contact sheets require typesetting and print work, which are naturally more expensive than a standard portfolio shoot. We will work with you to give you exactly what you need at a price that you can afford.
Q> What is the cost of a basic photo shoot and can you give me the photos on a CD or DVD?
Our Answer> A basic 1 to 1 and 1/2 hour test shoot is $60 (until January 2011) and you will receive unedited photos on a CD or DVD. All model portfolio shoots include basic blemish removal (things like acne, bruises and small fixes).
Q> Can you make me look better?
Our Answer> We are photoshop wizards! More extreme work above and beyond simple blemish removal, such as body shaping, creative Photoshop lighting, toning, selective/spot colouring, etc, is an extra cost. We charge extra for Photoshop work.
Q> What does your Photoshop work cost?
A> Our Photoshop editing rate is $75 per hour.
Q> Can you give me a CD or DVD with unedited and edited photos and how much will it cost?
A> Yes, we can. We will automatically give you social networking sized edits (eg. Facebook-sized 720 pixels on the long side) of any image we edit for our own portfolio so you can also use it for your social networking and Model Mayhem portfolios. We will also edit any images you particularly choose (up to 10 images from each photoshoot). The CD/DVD of unedited AND edited photos of your choice is $75.00, and you get your edits as full resolution images so you can print them for your own portfolio. So, if you do a 1 to 1.5 hour photoshoot with us and want edited photos on CD/DVD, the total price would be $135.00.
Q> Why are your rates so expensive?
Our Answer> Our rates are quite economical in comparison to others. Others charge as much as $100/hour and don’t have the same quality as we produce and some only give you 1 edit per hour! If $60 for a photo shoot is too much for you to spend then don’t expect to go very far with a modeling career.
Q> Why are your rates so cheap?
Our answer> We are very passionate about photography and we love to help models! We don’t do this to get rich, we do it because we love it!
Q> If you love it so much, why don’t you do it for free?
Our answer> We need to eat. We need to pay our bills. We need to survive as a business.
Q> What else can you do for me?
our answer> The biggest and best thing we can do for you, which is a natural phenomenon of our industry networking, is that we can put you in touch with many other industry professionals; photographers, designers, make up artists, hairstylists, etc. We can help you get on model/photographer networking websites.
Q> Can I see samples of your work?
Our answer> Yes, please see Our Online Portfolio for samples of our fashion photography. (Note: you will need to supply your own clothing/wardrobe unless we have made other arrangements). We can also show you our printed portfolio book when we meet.
