Two nights ago, just before the rain, the moon appeared ever so bright in the sky. It looked so close as if you could almost reach out and pull it out of the sky. Sharon wanted me to take an environmental photo of the moody, cloud-filled sky with various green-leaved branches framing this spectacular lunar view. She wanted the photo to use as the background for a new paranormal site and chat room we are opening.
I thought immediately that I wanted to get a photo of the moon in its full splendor, so I grabbed my Canon 5D with the EF24-70 f/2.8L on it, and my Canon 40D with the EF400mm f/5.6L on it. I was determined to get that killer shot of the moon, which as one can see in the image above, I succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.
However, just as I mounted the 5D on the tripod to get Sharon’s environmental shot, clouds rolled in to cover our beautiful, full moon. Much to our chagrin, the clouds persisted and this ended our short photo expedition.
Nonetheless, not a bad photo considering I didn’t use any sort of telescope or equatorial mount. I guess the paranormal will have to wait for the next full moon.
